A New Tide is Turning
29 Oct 2019, 10:33 a.m.
I don’t know if you have a favourite season or not. Some like the new life of Spring; some the heat of Summer others the sharpness of Winter. For me Autumn is always anticipated. In church life it signaled the time when fresh impetus would inspire us all and we launched new things, new projects and looked forward to the energy of Christmas as a focus for presenting Jesus afresh to our community. Autumn also symbolises the end of the old and the falling away, literally, of last seasons fruit.
It has been much like that for Acorn. We let go of the visible shape of the past, but very much with the knowledge that it also carried the seeds of our future. In that, we are preparing to launch a second School of Healing in Leicester in January, we have the Cathedral Healing Conference on 1st February in Guildford, with +James Newcome (Carlisle and Acorn Patron), +Andrew Watson (Guildford) and Rev Paul Harcourt (National Leader of New Wine). We are getting ready to launch the second year of the School of Healing syllabus in January at Guildford Cathedral, and the new evening Healing Celebrations are becoming established and will continue to flourish in 2020. There is among many a keen sense of the renewal of the church’s confidence in the Healing Ministry of Jesus and a desire to put it in to practice.
So thank you for being in this season of changing ‘spiritual’ colours and a different ministry ‘skyline'. Thank you for taking courageous steps with us as we seek to be faithful to the calling that Acorn has lived out since +Morris and Anne began and Russ continued. Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and for your gracious support. Together, we are seeing a tide turning and a new season preparing to dawn.
Acorn is in Leicester!
We are thrilled to be introducing the School of Healing to Leicester. Once a month throughout 2020 our team will be delivering an enriching program introducing you to the Christian healing ministry. Held one Saturday morning a month from 10:00 - 1:00, delegates will learn and experience how to become involved in the healing ministry and how to stay involved. We will focus on developing our sensitivity to the voice of the Holy Spirit and our awareness of how God is at work. There will be worship, before the session, giving time for learning, discussion and putting into practice what we have learned. We are pleased to be able to have a regular event further afield and to be able to build new relationships with churches and organisations within the area. You can find more information and book on via our website.

Your Support Goes a Long Way
Because of your ongoing support and belief in Acorn, we are able to serve and build relationships with individuals and communities. We encounter people experiencing life in different ways; such as coping with loneliness, trying to find resilience with mental health struggles, navigating their way through grief and loss, and coming to terms with life-changing diagnoses. From group training sessions, to times of individual ministry, and to producing resources that are shipped worldwide - your support really does go a long way. Lives are changed and hope is restored, so, thank you.
If you would like to support the ministry of Acorn with a financial contribution you can do so easily on our website or by visiting www.give.net/AcornCF - thank you.
