Our Appeal for Your Help - our Vision of Growth

Since the beginning of the year we have been exploring through prayer and conversation, the future of Acorn - not just for the coming year, but the next five. What has emerged is an exciting, challenging vision of growth.

Expanding Regionally

Our vision continues to build on Bishop Morris' own vision for beacons of healing and wholeness all over the country. We were aware that in this respect we needed to increase our presence regionally to avoid becoming southern-centric; after all we are a national ministry, as well as a local diocesan one. It was clear that we needed to place a fresh presence in each region NW, NE, SW, and SE/London, which could act as a base for training and a physical space for gathering our trainers and cluster groups for mutual support and ongoing development.

Our Central Community and 4 Regional Centres

The story of how our new vision emerged is one that demonstrates how God is communicating to us through the prayers and the prophetic words of others. In the attached newsletter from Wes you can read how prayer and scripture came together in this reworking of our vision, it is an amazing story in itself! At the heart is the requirement to establish a new expression of community at Whitehill Chase. We need to continue to become such a physical community of healing and prayer, so that as the 'mother house' that could shape and support each 'daughter house' as it came on line.

Where now?

So where does that leave us now? We have already begun to move forward on a number of fronts. The Team and Trustees have made a commitment to plant out a new Acorn presence in the NW, NE, SW and SE/London, to place Acorn within easier reach of as many people as possible. We are actively looking for locations, premises and partners to share this journey with and there are a variety of ways in which this can be expressed. We are working on how we can draw together a regional team in each area to serve and live our Acorn's ministry and values and through the MxProject have already begun to identify key leadership qualities that we will need in each community. Added to this we are intentionally pressing ahead with the establishing of a community at WHC.

How you can help

We continue to ask for your prayers over this time of growth and change. In addition, we will need to raise significant funds. The funds raised from this appeal will be used to:

Establish a Community Cafe here at Whitehill Chase providing a Listening Service and space for those who need a place of tranquility in order to recoup and recharge.

Financially support a small residential community at Whitehill Chase with a focus on prayer and hospitality.

Upgrade our furnishings and interior to a higher standard, in order to be better able to meet the needs of increased numbers of visitors and guests.

Invest in our training materials and new training programmes, and our training teams.

You can make a financial contribution by following the My Donate link on our website or by calling Lisa on 01420 478121, or by sending a cheque made payable to 'Acorn Christian Foundation' and posting to us at Whitehill Chase, High Street, Bordon, GU35 0AP.

Please continue to pray for our teams, here at Whitehill Chase and our teams of national trainers. your support enables us to provide training for many churches and organisations at a heavily subsidised rate, enabling more people to experience God's 'Shalom', it is this work that we want to expand across the country.

Many thanks,
