School of Healing
30th November 2019 - 10:00a.m. to 1:00p.m.
Acorn is committed and commissioned to see the church develop in the Healing Ministry of Jesus. Over many years we have developed understanding, a sound theology, and safe practice to support churches seeking to grow a healing ministry.
Held one Saturday morning a month from 10:00 - 1:00, delegates will learn and experience how to become involved in the healing ministry and how to stay involved. We will focus on developing our sensitivity to the voice of the Holy Spirit and our awareness of how God is at work. There will be worship, before the session, giving time for learning, discussion and putting into practice what we have learned, the morning will conclude with a healing service.
Each month we will be covering different material - there is no required commitment to attend all sessions. Just come along to the ones you can.
The subject for this School of Healing is Mental Health.
Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. In England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week.
So how does the church become a safe place for those facing mental health challenges, and how do we minister to them with grace and compassion. What does the Bible say about our mental health and how did Jesus embrace those in need in mind as well as body? Acorn’s School of Healing takes a look.
