Dance Day ~ Come as you are
30th September 2017 - 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.
My favourite colour is purple, in fact my Grandchildren call me" Grandma Purple"! I retired from Primary school teaching soon after we moved to Farnham from South London 12 years ago.I have always loved all kinds of dance and am a member of the C.of E. but not a "straight up and down hands by your sides" Christian!
The desire to dance and use movement in worship for me is a natural expression and response to God's love which overflows from deep within my soul. I have been a member of the Christian Dance Fellowship of Great Britain for many years since I was first introduced to Liturgical Dance at Lee Abbey in North Devon.I have attended and led workshops in the Mid-South Regional area.
My desire is to share this creative gift with others and encourage them to rediscover within themselves that God given freedom of movement which can be so healing and releasing.
But do not worry,I am myself no longer in the flush of youth and the pace of the workshop will be gentle and sedate!! So come, let's explore together and see!
The workshop is accessible for all abilities-no previous experience of dance is necessary and it's more" gentle movement" than " high energy output"!
The theme is "Come as you are, that's how God loves you" and we will be meditating on God's word and exploring God's love for us and our response through movement in worship.
There will be a mixture of easy to learn dances corporately and in small groups but with freedom for individual expression of movement,-plus an introduction to using flags and ribbons in worship.
