God is essentially a reconciler at heart. Everything that he does is a desire to reach out, restore and repair all broken relationships. Although the word reconciliation is only mentioned 16 times in the New Testament, its outcomes are amazing.
"For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him by the death of his son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life."
“If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift at the altar. First go and be reconciled…”
“What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord."
“God’s purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace…and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross”.
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him and through him to reconcile all things to himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood shed upon the cross.
