A Quiet Day is an opportunity to come aside and allow God to minister through His Holy Spirit.

In February the theme is ‘Praying the Names of Jesus’ Ministry will be available during the day from a Team Member. To include morning coffee, lunch & afternoon tea Ignatian Retreat-A Silent RetreatLed by members of the Ignatian TeamStarting late Friday afternoon and finishing mid-afternoon on Sunday. How can I listen to and hear God speak in my everyday life? This weekend offers a time to step aside from our everyday routines to be still in God’s presence. The weekend is underpinned with Ignatian insights into prayer and our relationship with God. Each person meets twice or three times with a retreat Guide. The rest of the weekend is spent reflecting on one’s own life circumstances in the light of Bible reading. We keep silence from late Friday evening until the Communion service on Sunday, apart from your own times with your retreat guide. We do this to enable everyone to have space to relax and reflect -to meet God in their own way, and at their own pace. Silence is a way of respecting the “space” of each other. Silence is also a gift we give to one another and can help us each to discover what God is “singing” to us individually, at this time in our lives.

‘A Time to Dream’ – A workshop exploring how dreams work Led by Revd Dr Russ Parker – Author of ‘Healing Dreams’ Dreams have fascinated us for over four thousand years according to the existing records. At heart, we believe that they contain some insight or illumination about our lives. We believe that they may have some message that is important for us to hear if we are going to move on with a more wholesome life. This is a Christian Day Conference which will explore what the scriptures teach us about dreams, how they are a mixture of our own questing and God’s intervention into our circumstances with visions. Imagine the Christmas story if all the dreamers had ignored their dream message! Joseph would not have married Mary nor called her son Jesus and the wise men would have given Herod the postal address of the Messiah. This Day will teach you how to understand the way in which dreams work and how to arrive at the right interpretation and then choose the proper actions in order to follow your dream message. Who do you think you are?
~ A creative retreat exploring the theme of personal calling, as we seek to discover God's unique intention for our lives
Led by Marie Calvert & Joy Taylor
Starting late Friday afternoon and finishing after lunch on Sunday.
Each one of us has a special contribution to offer the world, and a way of being and doing that is uniquely ours. Often the terms 'calling' or 'vocation' are mistakenly assumed to only refer to those in official religious ministries, whereas God's calling is for all of us, whatever our age or stage of life. During this retreat we will use creative approaches to explore the nature of God's unique calling on our lives, and consider how we might respond with courage and integrity |
