Starting early Monday afternoon and finishing after lunch on Friday.
‘For God alone my soul in silence waits.’ Psalm 62v1
This retreat is intended for those who have already experienced a two or three day silent retreat, and seek an opportunity to journey into a place of deeper silence before God.
To this end we hope to become a simple community for these days, the Body of Christ in this place: a community committed to listening to God and continuing our individual journeys whilst supporting each other in prayer and worship.
We will offer a monastic style pattern of prayer with a Morning Eucharist, silent Midday Prayer, and Night Prayer when we entrust ourselves and our world to God’s safe keeping at the end of the day.
You may want to embrace all, or part of this rhythm.
An important part of the retreat will be the opportunity to meet daily with your prayer companion, for up to an hour, to share something of your prayer journey and reflect on it together. Each prayer companion is experienced in spiritual direction and retreat work, and aware of the Ignatian tradition of Individual Guided Retreats.
It is important that those applying have already had some experience of a silent retreat, maybe at a WHC weekend, or elsewhere.
This will be a small retreat with 12 retreatants, and we invite you to prayerfully consider whether God is calling you to join us. We look forward to welcoming you.
Please complete the separate Application Form and Booking Form and return to the office at Whitehill Chase.
