Our vision is to bring the love of Jesus Christ to a broken world through listening, healing and reconciliation.
Established in 1983, Acorn Christian Healing Foundation came from a vision given to Bishop Morris Maddocks and his wife Anne, in which they were called to revive the practice of Christian Healing within the church of Jesus Christ.
Our mission is rooted within the Church of England and is engaged in partnerships with every Christian denomination. We are achieving our mission by:
"We have a single passion, to see people and communities healed and transformed through the love of Jesus Christ. We are making a difference to so many lives through listening, healing and reconciliation." - Acorn’s Director, Revd Dr Russ Parker
"Acorn is providing vital training in listening, healing and reconciliation and I warmly recommend its ministry " - Acorn’s Patron, The Most Revd & RT Hon the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury
As a Christian Charity we are very much dependant upon the generosity of others who believe in what we are doing. Acorn is branching out to other countries including Northern Ireland, Portugal, Denmark, USA, Hong Kong, Burundi, Rwanda and South Africa. We are so grateful to our Friends of Acorn who contribute, as this makes a difference to the work we can do and most importantly, the people who are effected by our work.
We would like to take this opportunity to ask you to consider being a Friend of Acorn.
If you have a heart for the Healing Ministry and would like to become involved in the work of Acorn please contact our chaplain Revd Elizabeth Knifton - phone: 01420 478121
